The frame chosen by this Inn has been the parade grounds of the old Alcazar of King Peter I possibly raised over the Roman Acropolis that Peter I enlarged and reformed, a job for which he hired the same artists that built for him the Alcazar of Seville. During the Lisbon earthquake (1755) the structure suffered serious damages which never fully recovered. Today the entrance is an arc that used to be in the old wall, where the passage of vehicles has left its track over the centuries. The Inn maintains the style of the original construction, emphasizing the beautiful patio with slanted arcs and a central fountain, all within the most pure Arab tradition. To decorate the cafeteria typical Sevillian tiles were used. The terrace resembles a watchtower with the corresponding battlements. The rooms on the fourth floor, all have terraces with view to the fertile valley of Corbones. The Bermejo room particularly stands out with its rugs and numerous antiques. The swimming pool is in the lower part of the hill, an elevator allows access to the winding way through the vegetation that leads to it. The hotel offers 63 room equipped with air conditioning, hairdryer, mini-bar, radio, satellite TV, telephone. Amenities available to guests include caffe bar, garden, terrace, lift, meeting rooms, money exchange, parking, handicaped access. The hotel accepts major credit cards. |
